Novel and Nosh
Novel & Nosh is a podcast about nourishment in all its forms; stories, seasons, food, books, and lived experience.
Each episode offers reflections and conversations that explore new ways of living, gathering, and finding belonging through shared moments. Across tables and through changing seasons, we collect stories that remind us we don’t have to do life alone.
This is a podcast for those who crave depth without hustle, presence over productivity, and connection that feels real.

Moving From Overthinking To Trust: A Threshold Moment
We speak from the threshold between who we were and who we are becoming, letting go of the need to script the future and choosing one honest step forward. We reflect on fear, faith, and why loving action reveals the path faster than perfectionism.
• naming the tension of change and threshold moments
• how control and overthinking masquerade as safety
• why outsourcing discernment to AI misses the point
• a simple lens for decisions rooted in purpose and love
• the power of one next step over a perfect plan
• trusting timing, consistency and gratitude to open doors
• our intent to share where books and food meet life

Welcome to Novel and Nosh, a place that exists to collect and share experiences and stories that nourish across seasons, tables, and lives. Today I want to share with you where I'm at. And maybe if you are here listening to this, you are feeling this same feeling. And hopefully what I provide you will help you move into your next iteration of where you want to go. So I know for myself that I am standing on a threshold of moving from who I was to who I am. And with that has come a lot of stress, anxiety, overanalyzing, trying to create the playbook right now. Sit down, create the whole playbook of life going forward so that I know what steps to take along the way. And maybe you are the same way. Maybe you feel like you are wanting a change in your life. And you feel led to do something different, and you're scared, as that's, I mean, that is definitely that's okay. Maybe you feel as if you can't make that next step because you also have to have everything flushed out before you can change. This is safety. This is ours body, our mind's way of protecting itself. This is normal to feel, but this does not mean that it's not telling you what you should or shouldn't do. Okay. Because if you're like me, I will think about all these different things, and then I'll think, oh, I can't do this because of this. And maybe this is maybe this happened because I'm not supposed to do this, right? And it keeps you safe rather than taking that next step. And that is our mind's way of protecting us. So I wanted to share with you something that I read yesterday. I sat down after completely and utterly contemplating the next five years with novel and Nosh and what I wanted it to be and what should it be. And I got Chat GPT involved, which I don't even understand why I would do that, because I don't know. I just thought, you know, you hear that it's a you're your business coach. So I thought, oh, let me let me give it all this information and see what it brings about. And I realized that that is not what I'm that is not what we're designed to do. We are not designed to look at AI for our answers. We are here to live and experience life and to know that we don't need to have it all figured out, that instead we need to take the next step, and that will guide us to where we need to go. So no matter where you are on your spiritual journey, I wanted to read this to you because I felt like it resonates for anyone. This does, this I did get this from the Bible app. I wanted to make sure I let you know that because of copyright issues. Um, but I read this yesterday and I thought this is so true. And I just for some reason felt like I needed to share it today when I recorded this. And it said, making decisions is hard. When we attempt to make the perfect decision, we can often find ourselves stuck in indecision. And while we should always prayerfully discern our next steps according to God's word and his ways, sometimes we overcomplicate things. And I thought, this has been what I this is what I've been doing. I am overcomplicating everything. And what this came from was in regards to 1 Corinthians 1031. And it says, so whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. And I think that is key, that you don't need to have everything figured out. What you need to do is take that next step, and doors will open for you, opportunities will come to you, answers will be revealed as long as you are doing it with heart, with kindness, with love and gratitude. You don't need to have everything figured out, you just need to take that next step in love and kindness, in grace and gratitude, and all will be revealed. Everything will come in the right time, and that is truly all I have today. I'm not sure what this journey is with Novel and Nosh, my podcast. I have an idea of where I want to go. I just know that I have to take that next step in each week. Whatever feels on my heart to speak about is where I need to be right now. And if you would like to go on this journey with me, as I slowly start to move into sharing my experiences where books and food come together for sure in this season of life.
